Welcome and Opening Remarks from the Chair

2.

Improving Public Transport in Crouch End, Hornsey and Stroud Green

a)         Larry Heyman will speak on behalf of the railway company ‘First Connect’ about plans to improve the safety and amenities at Hornsey and Harringay Stations. 

 

b)         Nicos Constantinou will speak on behalf of Haringey Council’s Street Scene Service about planned improvements to Tottenham Lane to make safer the approach to Hornsey Station, including a proposed zebra crossing and improvements to street lighting.

 

c)         Daniella Jenkins will speak on behalf of London Buses about the routing of buses in the area and the locations of bus stops.

 

d)         Transport for London is currently interviewing residents about their daily travel patterns, with the aim of developing local travel plans that encourage greater use of public transport.  One of the researchers will briefly talk about the research project.

 

All four speakers will also invite questions from residents attending.

‘Stop and Shop’ Parking in Crouch End Broadway

Tony Kennedy will provide a brief update on the current position with

regard to the ‘Stop and Shop’ parking scheme suggested for Crouch

End Broadway.

During the interval residents are invited to look at displays showing:

 

·        The ‘making the difference’ projects awarded funded this year in Crouch End, Hornsey and Stroud Green.

·        The main findings from recent consultation on Haringey’s Community Strategy.

Hornsey Town Hall Community Partnership Board

Chris Warburton, Chair of the Hornsey Town Hall Community Partnership Board, will speak on plans now agreed to secure the Town Hall’s future, and answer residents’ questions.

5.

Executive Question Time

Cllr Lorna Reith, Executive Member for Community Involvement and Deputy Leader, will answer residents’ questions on behalf of the Council Executive.

6.

Youth Engagement

Bob Goldsmith – Neighbourhood Manager for Crouch End, Hornsey and Stroud Green – will talk about a number of exciting initiatives being taken to engage young people across the assembly area.  These include a video project, a music festival in Crouch End and half-term sports programmes.
