Reason for urgency:
Canning Crescent will create a new Adult Mental Health facility with respite units, recovery college and cafe for use by Barnet, Enfield, and Haringey (BEH) Mental Health NHS Trust.
At the point of handover of the works by KDC (scheduled for 21st February 25) issues were identified by the design team with the fire dampers across the scheme which provide the integrity of the fire compartments where pipes enter floors and walls in protected corridors.
These dampers form an integral part of the fire strategy ensuring the safety of the building users and are considered a prerequisite to handover of the scheme.
These works will facilitate the relocation of Clarendon Road Recovery College into Canning Crescent allowing for Clarendon Road to be refurbished for homeless accommodation.
The Contractor is currently in possession of the building and Haringey are paying for preliminary and security costs for ongoing site presence whilst a funding decision is made. Further delays ar

To approve an increase in budget for the project from £5,918,805 to £6,417,494 an uplift of £498,689 and support a variation of contract to Kind Diamond Consortium (KDC) from £1,904,529 to £2,366,169, an uplift of £461,640.
