The IMHA advocacy provision fulfils the statutory obligations of the London Boroughs of Haringey, Barnet and Enfield as outlined under section 43 of the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to make arrangements to enable “independent mental health advocates” to be available to support qualifying patients in accordance with section 130A of the Mental Health Act.
