Extension of Housing Related Support Contract- Somewhere Safe to Stay with All People All Places

Decision type: Key

Decision status: For Determination

Notice of proposed decision first published: 12/04/2021

Anticipated restriction: Public  -

Decision due: Between 12 May 2021 and 19 May 2021 by Cabinet Member Signing

Following confirmation of MHCLG Rough Sleeping Initiative funding in March, we request approval to extend the contract for Somewhere Safe to Stay for a period of 3 months from 01/04/21 – 30/06/21 at an additional value of £95,968. This is a key decision due to the aggregated value of the contract over a period of one year and 9 months including proposed extension totalling £583,637 . The extension of the contract allows the Council to continue to provide an effective response to the Covid-19 pandemic and to prioritise the safety and welfare of vulnerable people who are rough sleeping by providing accommodation that will enable people to adhere to government guidelines around self-isolation, where they would not ordinarily have accommodation or financial means to do so.
