This report seeks retrospective approval from the Cabinet Member to enter into a collaborative agreement with the Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) to carry out asymptomatic mass testing at designated sites in the borough. Delegated authority action was taken by officers on behalf of the council to participate in community testing and a funding proposal for this was approved by the DHSC on 29 Dec 20. Expenditure on this project is anticipated to be £1,561,000 which is funded by the DHSC. This report provides approvals and governance for the funding agreement until the end of March 2021. The report highlights that further approval may be needed for the period 1 April 21 – 30 June 21 once the government confirms this extension to the mass testing programme.
