To seek approval to carry out public consultation to extend the duration of the Public Spaces Protection Order in the Seven Sisters area

Decision type: Key

Decision status: For Determination

Notice of proposed decision first published: 02/03/2017

Anticipated restriction: Public  -

Decision due: Between 31 Mar 2017 and 14 Apr 2017 by Cabinet Member Signing

The PSPO approved last year expires on 31st July 2017. There was overwhelming support for the Order from the public. If the Order is not extended it will have to be discharged. In the absence of a PSPO it is likely that the activities prohibited by the PSPO will reoccur and increase to the detriment of local residents and businesses. In deciding whether or not to extend the duration of a PSPO the local authority is required to carry out the 'necessary consultation’ as defined in s72(4) of the Anti-Social Behaviour, crime and Policing Act 2014.
