Haringey Core Strategy - Adoption

The report is asking Cabinet to accept  the recommendations put forward by the Planning Inspector into Haringey's Core Strategy and to recommend to Full Council that the Core Strategy is adopted as the key strategic spatial plan for the Borough

Consultation process

The Core Strategy has been subject to three rounds of statutory public consultation (in line with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 and Updated Regulations, 2008). Issues and Options consultation - Feb/March 2008;  Preferred Options consultation - May/June 2009, Proposed Submission consultation May/June 2010, and following the Examination in Public in June/July 2011 a revised consultation was carried out in Sept/Nov 2011. The Hearing sessions reopened on 22nd February 2012 for one day to discuss Housing and Employment. Following publication of the new National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) in March 2012, the Core Strategy was subject to a final round of consultation to ensure its compliance with the NPPF. The Core Strategy has been amended to reflect these consultations and the two Examinations in Public. The report is asking Cabinet to note the Inspector's modifications as set out in his report and to recommend to Full Council that the Core Strategy (with amendments) is adopted as the statutory strategic development plan for the Borough

SLT date: An Equalities Impact Assessment has been carried out in parallel with the preparation of the Core Strategy and has been subject to all three stages of public consultation.
