Consultation process
The Core Strategy has been subject to three rounds of statutory public consultation (in line with the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 & Updated Regulations, 2008). Issues and Options consultation - Feb/March 2008; Preferred Options consultation - May/June 2009, Proposed Submission consultation May/June 2010, and following the Examination in Public in June/July 2011 a revised consultation was carried out in Sept/Nov 2011. The Hearing sessions re-opened on 22nd February 2012 for one day to discuss Housing and Employment.
The Core Strategy has been amended to reflect these consultations and the Examination in Public. The report is asking Cabinet to note the Inspector's modifications as set out in his report and to recommend to Full Council that the Core Strategy (with amendments) is adopted as the statutory strategic development plan for the Borough.

SLT date: An Equalities Impact Assessment has been carried out in parallel with the preparation of the Core Strategy and has been subject to all three stages of public consultation.
