Consultation process

The North London Joint Waste Strategy (the joint strategy for the North London boroughs and the NLWA), which sets out how the partners will manage waste from households and businesses in the area until 2020, contains targets on recycling and waste reduction that underpin the procurement of new waste management services. The draft strategy was subject to public and statutory agency consultation in 2008 and amended as a result.

DMT date and early discussion between AD and Cabinet Member: Cabinet Member for Environment and the Director of Place and Sustainability

SLT date: An Equalities Impact Assessment was carried out on the North London Joint Waste Strategy in 2008. Equalities and diversity implications of new services will be considered by the NLWA procurement process through competitive dialogue and assessment of tenders, as well as through the appraisal of options under the IAA by the council.
