In conjunction with the IAA the seven boroughs and the NLWA will agree a variation to the default levying system in relation to Household Waste Recycling Centres that will transfer to NLWA. This decision needs to be made in time to meet a statutory deadline of 31 January 2012.

Consultation process
The North London Joint Waste Strategy (the joint strategy for the North London boroughs and the NLWA), which sets out how the partners will manage waste from households and businesses in the area until 2020, contains targets on recycling and waste reduction that underpin the procurement of new waste management services. The draft strategy was subject to public and statutory agency consultation in 2008 and amended as a result.
