Consultation process

There has been extensive involvement of resident and service user groups in the development of the framework, including the Forum for Older People, Age Concern Haringey, Carers and the Alzheimer’s Society. Supplier groups and forums have also been consulted on the new framework and there have been preliminary discussions with individual suppliers. The Council’s Corporate Procurement Service have worked very closely on the development of the framework.  We have also consulted with other local authorities who have been identified as leaders on the implementation of Transforming Social Care.

DMT date and early discussion between AD and Cabinet Member: Cabinet Member for Adult and Community Services with the Director of Adult, Culture and Community Services

SLT date: The Transforming Social Care programme aims to give residents needing care and support direct control over the budgets and resources used to provide their services. It is also designed to ensure that they are both able to choose the providers of their services but also to specify the way services are delivered to them to meet their specific requirements, outcomes and needs. This will enable Haringey residents to design, commission and where they choose, to purchase their own services to meet their ethnic, cultural, gender, disability and religious needs.
