Consultation process
Following initial discussion with local community & councillors, a draft design guidance document was reported to Planning Committee, September 2009 to seek views on design principles; Committee gave support. Following approval by Cabinet in October, an initial community consultation was carried out November-December 2009, outcome was large majority support; full summary is available. The design guidance has now been developed as an SPD with policy assessment on how it relates to the existing Unitary Development Plan & emerging Core Strategy and Development Management DPD, as well as full Sustainability Appraisal (SA) & Equalities Impact Assessment. Formal consultation on draft SPD & SA took place from mid May to end June 2010. The final draft SPD is now presented to Cabinet for adoption
