Fee increases: library fines and charges and adult learning provision delivered through Haringey Adult Learning Service (HALS)

To seek approval for an increase in library fines and charges and across all fee recoverable courses delivered by HALS. It will include a review of course fee discounts and propose the development of a small programme of full fee recovery courses.

Consultation process

Consultation has been undertaken with the Skills Funding Agency (SfA). Reporting will be through the SfA and Chief Executive’s Budget Call Over.

DMT date and early discussion between AD and Cabinet Member: Cabinet Member for Adults and Community Services with the Director of Adult, Culture and Community Services.

SLT date: Fines, charges and course fees have not increased for 3 years. Increased fees may impact on the capability of some learners to pay for courses, however increased fees will allow for the development of innovative courses to meet local need.
