Tottenham Hale gyratory scheme and changes to 2010/11 Growth Fund project allocations

To update Cabinet on progress on the Tottenham Hale gyratory system (reverting the gyratory to two-way traffic flow building a new bus interchange at Tottenham Hale station and associated works)

To approve changes to project allocations from the Growth Fund 2010/11 as a result of a funding reduction imposed nationally by central government.

To approve entering into funding agreements for the Tottenham Hale Gyratory scheme with Transport for London (TfL) based on a modified funding package from that considered by Cabinet in July 2009.  

To note the basis on which three areas of Council-owned land (which Cabinet in July 2009 resolved to dedicate as highway maintainable at public expense) will be made available to TfL to facilitate the localised road widening required for the Gyratory System.

Consultation process

Transport for London (TfL) has undertaken public consultation on the details of the gyratory scheme (the report will summarise the response) and which is informing ongoing consultation between TfL, London Development Agency and the Council to continue progress.

DMT date and early discussion between AD and Cabinet Member: The Leader of the Council and the Cabinet Member for Planning and regeneration with the Director of Urban Environment.

SLT date: The gyratory scheme facilitates a more accessible/permeable environment and supports future housing and employment growth in Tottenham Hale that aims to promote physical, economic and social regeneration combating a high level of deprivation and worklessness.
