Implications of the Traffic Management Act 2004 in particular Part 2 (Network Management Duty) and Part 3 (Adoption of the Permit Scheme)

To outline the implications of Traffic Management Act 2004 for the Borough. Member’s approval is required for adoption under part 3 of the relevant powers to become a Permit Authority and to authorise the Director of Urban Environment to make the necessary arrangements to submit, in conjunction with London Permit Working Group, an application to the Secretary of State to operate the permit scheme. The fixed penalty will be introduced in May 2008, but the permit scheme would not be introduced until at least October 2008 but may be later subject to Secretary of State approval
