To Seek Member Agreement to Award the Contract for the Construction of a New Playground in Markfield Park

External funds have been secured for the improvement of Markfield Park. A masterplan has been produced and a new playground is part of this plan. Competitive tenders were invited for the playground construction works from five firms from Haringey’s approved list of contractors

Consultation process

All the designs for the park have been subject to public consultation with local residents, schools and the Friends of Markfield Park. The local community and numerous local organisations are all in full support of the plans. The playground project is funded through the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) funds and from the borough award from the Big Lottery Fund (BIG). Therefore, reporting is through the DCLG streamboard and monitored by both the DCLG and BIG

SLT date: The contractors on Haringey’s framework all comply with the Council’s criteria for Equalities. When the works are complete the park will have better access for disabled users
