Funding has been secured for the construction of the café from the DCLG and Haringey's capital resources. This new build café will be open to the local community and it will also provide toilets for all park users. A small reception area for the Markfield Museum is also part of the plans. An accelerated programme is in place for the cafe's construction as spend has to be achieved by the end of March

Consultation process
The designs for the cafe have been subject to public consultation with local residents, schools and the Friends of Markfield Park. The local community are in full support of the plans. The café will be run as a social enterprise by the Markfield Project, who are already based on site in the original pumphouse building
