The Cabinet will be asked to approve issues and options for a Core Strategy for public consultation. As part of its Local Development Framework, the Council is required to prepare a Core Strategy which will replace the strategic policies and objectives of the Unitary Development Plan. The Core Strategy will build upon the new Sustainable Community Strategy and the emerging Council Plan and will give spatial interpretation to the Council’s strategies. It will include the new housing target and identify broad locations for the delivery of new housing and other strategic development and infrastructure needs up to 2016.
