Save the trees
We the undersigned petition the council to We want the council to acknowledge the urgency of the climate crisis and suspend all non-urgent felling of trees.
Hundreds of Haringey residents are upset by what appears to be a
massive increase in the number of trees being felled and hedgerows
being destroyed. This does not make sense when other bodies on the
council are making plans to cut carbon emissions and promote
biodiversity. Some of these trees are hundreds of years old and
such habitats cannot easily be replaced. We therefore demand an
immediate halt to all non-essential tree felling until the Climate
Action plan has been implemented and Haringey has a Tree strategy
in place and enough staff to implement it.
