We, the undersigned residents, regular users, and community
stakeholders of the London Borough of Haringey, request urgent
structural reform to the management and governance of Park Road
Leisure Centre and Lido.
We Believe For several years, the standard Haringey Council
complaints procedure has failed to address systemic operational and
cultural failures at the facility. We contended that Regular users
face an unaccountable management culture, critical understaffing,
and a hostile environment. We believe Front-line staff frequently
weaponise arbitrary "evacuation breaks" and sudden closures under
the guise of cleaning or health and safety, with no actual work
taking place. We contended that This pattern of behaviour is used
to retaliate against paying customers who challenge poor service,
effectively bullying the community out of a publicly funded
asset.
While informal user groups exist, we contended that they lack any
structural authority or legislative teeth to hold management
accountable. We believe that The current insular management model
excludes the public, protects incompetence, and ignores community
needs. We require a shift toward co-production, ensuring that the
people who fund and use this leisure centre have a binding say in
how it is run.
