Petition to Haringey Council: Remove the Hornsey North East
Controlled Parking Zone
We, the undersigned residents, businesses, workers, and visitors of
the Hornsey North East area, call upon Haringey Council to remove
the Hornsey North East Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) and undertake
a full review of its impact on our community.
The CPZ has imposed significant restrictions on residents,
visitors, carers, tradespeople, and local businesses while failing
to demonstrate sufficient benefits to justify its implementation.
Many residents believe the scheme has reduced parking availability,
increased inconvenience, and placed additional financial burdens on
households.
We are particularly concerned that the design, consultation, implementation, and administration of the CPZ.
We believe that:
The CPZ has made parking unnecessarily restrictive for residents
and visitors.
Local businesses have suffered from reduced customer access.
Permit and visitor parking charges place an additional burden on
households.
Parking pressures have been displaced into neighbouring areas
rather than resolved.
The overall cost of the scheme represents poor value for money for
local taxpayers.
Any parking management policy should reflect the wishes of the
majority of affected residents.
We therefore call on Haringey Council to:
Remove the Hornsey North East Controlled Parking Zone.
Publish the full cost of the scheme, including consultation,
implementation, signage, road markings, administration, and
enforcement.
Conduct a fresh and transparent consultation with all affected
residents and businesses.
Consider alternative parking arrangements that are less
restrictive, more proportionate, and better suited to local
needs.
By signing this petition, we ask Haringey Council to listen to
local residents and take immediate steps to remove the Hornsey
North East CPZ and restore fair and accessible parking arrangements
in our neighbourhood.
