We are calling on Haringey Council to investigate the increase in speeding and cut-through traffic on Drylands Road following the introduction of speed bumps on Ferme Park Road.
Drylands Road is a residential street, but it is now being used by large numbers of drivers as an alternative route, especially during morning and evening rush hour. Dozens of cars speed down the road, creating a serious road safety risk for residents, pedestrians and cyclists.
Local people are concerned that traffic has been displaced from Ferme Park Road onto Drylands Road, making this street increasingly dangerous. Residents have experienced repeated near misses, including while cycling on Drylands Road.
We ask the council to:
- investigate whether traffic has been displaced onto Drylands Road
- carry out speed and traffic monitoring on the road
- consult local residents on this issue
- bring forward traffic-calming or enforcement measures to improve safety if needed
We want Haringey Council to take urgent action to make Drylands Road safer for everyone.
