(Report of the Director of the Children and Young People’s Service – To be introduced by the Executive Member for Children and Young People): To report on the outcome of the consultation exercise for the 2008/09 school year and to recommend the determination of the Council’s admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools.
Minutes:
Our Chair agreed to accept the report as urgent business. The report was late because of the need to complete necessary consultations. The report was too urgent to await the next meeting because determinations had to be made by 15 April 2007.
Details of the comments received in response to Fortismere School’s proposal to change the admission arrangements to the sixth form from the 2008/09 school yearwhich were set out in Appendix 10b to the interleaved report were the subject of a motion to exclude the press and public from the meeting as they contained exempt information which was likely to reveal the identity of an individual.
Councillor Canver declared a personal interest in this item by virtue of having a child who attended Fortismere School and left the room during its discussion and while the decisions were made.
