Northumberland Park and White Hart Lane Area Forum and
Committee
What are Area
Forums?
·
They are a public place for you to raise and discuss important
local issues
What are Area
Committees?
Area Committees have replaced Area Assemblies.
They will:
·
Be a place where councillors make decisions to solve local problems
and address the issues raised by you through your Area Forum
including making decisions about your roads, environment and street
scene.
·
Receive deputations, petitions or previously indicated written
questions from residents
·
Have £25,000 to spend on work to make a difference to your
area.
What is the
relationship between Area Forums and Area Committees?
·
Area Forums are a platform for public debate. Area Committees take
decisions in response to issues raised through Forums.
·
Each Area Forum meeting will be followed by a corresponding Area
Committee meeting.
·
Area Committee meetings will be formally minuted but Area Forums
will not.
Why have Area
Committees and Forums been created?
·
So that councillors can work more closely with you in your local
area.
Where and when will
the Area Committees and Forums be held?
·
There will be 4 meetings a year.
·
Meetings will normally be from 6.30pm until 9.00pm – the
Forum and accompanying Committee will be held during this time.
·
Meetings will be public and in places that are easy for you to get
to.
How will Area
Committee and Forum meetings run?
·
Area Forum and Committee meetings will be chaired by a member of
the Area Committee, which will be made up of local Councillors.
