(Report of the Director of Regeneration, Planning and Development). The report seeks approval of the bid submission for consideration by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and for the Council to enter into a Funding Agreement with the HLF if the bid were to be successful.
Additional documents: Minutes: The Cabinet Member for Housing and Regeneration considered a report, previously circulated, which sought approval to make a bid submission to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to fund improvements to shop fronts in North Tottenham.
RESOLVED:
i. That approval be given to the bid submission for consideration by the Heritage Lottery Fund and for the Council to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Heritage Lottery Fund if the bid was successful.
ii. That approval be given for authority to be delegated to the Director of Regeneration, Planning and Development, to agreed the final terms of the Funding Agreement and to allocate the funding received from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Alternative options considered To take no action would result in the loss of external investment in North Tottenham of over £1.5m.
Any change to the amount of funding requested would result in the request having to go back to the Heritage Lottery Fund board. Competition for funding was very tight and having been supported through to this stage, the bid in its current form has a good chance of succeeding.
Reasons for decision The decision will grant authority to submit a bid to the Heritage Lottery Fund for £1.5m of funding to improve building frontages including shop fronts in North Tottenham.
