AREA FORUM

1a) Keeping Families Together [6.35pm]

Tom Hill of North London YMCA, and Community Host Co-ordinator

will be talking about the project which is aimed at supporting and housing 16 to 24 year olds who are on the verge of homelessness.

1b) Regulation of the Private Rented Sector [6.45pm]

Getting decent private rented accommodation is both a local and national issue. There has been a sharp rise in the amount of private rented accommodation and houses that are in multiple occupation. However, when properties that have multiple occupiers are poorly managed by landlords, they can have a negative impact on the quality of life for both the tenants and neighbours. Come and hear about what the council can do to support better rented accommodation and what local residents can do to help.

1c) A discussion about the findings of Broadwater United Football Club's survey of youth and young adults [7.30pm]

In June, Broadwater United conducted a questionnaire with young people visiting a holiday football project at  Broadwater Farm Community Centre to get an understanding of their interests, activities, thoughts about youth provision and experiences with the Police. The findings of the questionnaire will be presented for the Youth Service, Police and residents to comment on. This project was funded by Community First.

1d) Suggested items for the next Forum meeting.[8.00pm]

There will be an opportunity for local residents to put forward their ideas on topics for discussion at the next meeting.
