West Green and Bruce Grove Area Forum and Committee
THURSDAY 21 June 2012 Venue: Bruce Grove Youth Centre 10 Bruce Grove TOTTENHAM N17 6RA 6.30pm
From 5.45 pm until 6.30pm there will be an information stall with representatives from the Council, Adult Education and the local college available to speak on a one to one basis with young people and residents from the local area about employment and training opportunities. Also at this time, local community groups can get information and speak to a council officer about, application to the One Borough One Future funding stream and there will be information on the latest consultation activity on dog control orders.
Your local councillors will be on hand to discuss individual issues of concern from 6.00 until 6.30pm. A representative from Homes for Haringey will also be available at 5.45pm to discuss any individual housing concerns with residents.

1 a) Update on Bruce Grove Youth Centre
Find out the progress being made on management and sustainability of the Bruce Grove Youth Centre and the plans for a full timetable of activities during the summer period, with the centre open from 12pm – 8.30pm Monday to Friday.
1b) Childhood Obesity in Haringey [6.55pm]
A recently published public health report about Childhood obesity in Haringey shows that 1 in 3 children in the borough are obese. In West Green and Bruce Grove wards 35.6% to 45.6 % of children are obese. Put forward your views to health representatives on what needs to happen to improve children and young people’s health in the local area and how awareness of this important health issue can be increased among families, children and young people.
1c) Bruce Grove and West Green CPZ and One Way System[7.25pm]
Residents will have the opportunity to put forward, to the Transport and Parking Team, their long standing concerns and views about the CPZ and one way systems in the local area and hear about how these can be taken forward. 1d) Fortnightly Non Recyclable Rubbish Collections [7.50pm]
Representatives from Place and Sustainability along with Veolia will be available to answer any queries or concerns from residents about the implementation of fortnightly non recyclable rubbish collections in West Green and Bruce Grove wards which began on the 18th June 2012. 1e) Update from the Safer Neighbourhoods Team [8.10pm]
Sergeants from the Safer Neighbourhood Teams for West Green and Bruce Grove will provide a short update on their activities and operations in the local area. 1f) Update on West Green Road Improvements and Road [8.20pm]
Hear about the final plans for West Green Road improvements and put forward your concerns about road safety and areas for improvement in the Lordship Lane area.

At the previous meeting committee members asked for a number of updates and additions which are now completed and attached for final agreement of the plan.
Additional documents: Minutes: The Committee considered a report that sought approval the finalised Area Plan for West Green and Bruce Grove.
Members were advised that this was an evolving piece of work and that there would be an opportunity for Members to review it at each of the Area Committee meetings.
The Committee discussed the plan and the Chair requested that more detail was added to Priority 2: Broadwater Farm Shop/Facilities. It was noted that the community had expressed a wish to see a ‘village centre’ created at Broad Water Farm and that this should be reflected in the document and there was agreement that the Committee should receive a report on this at a future meeting.
It was further requested that an update was provided to the Committee on progress in meeting the priorities identified in the plan as being completed by July 2012 prior to the next meeting and that any areas where a date for completion had been specified should be populated before the plan was submitted to the Committee at its next meeting.

The committee will consider an update on the items discussed at the forum and committee meeting in April and consider the responses provided to suggested items that did not make the meeting. The update will include information on:
Minutes: The Committee considered a report that provided feedback on items requested at the previous Area Forum meeting.
Higham Road/Downhills Road Junction Concern was raised that this remained an area where accidents occurred on a frequent basis and it was requested that officers provided a response to Councillor Mallett’s suggestion that a convex mirror was installed to improve visibility.
Bullying in Schools The Chair advised that there would be an item on this at the next Area Forum.
Update on Twelve Pledges The Chair requested that an update was provided at the next Area Forum.
