Additional documents:

Minutes:

The Committee noted the discussion that took place during the forum and identified the following issues to take forward:

Cleaner Streets

·               Residents reported that on match days, there was a great deal of rubbish left in the streets (bottles and beer cans) and requested this be fed back to Veolia.

·               Traveller site – North Middlesex Hospital / White Hart Lane.  Information was requested on who was responsible for removing the travellers from the land, who was responsible for the clean up, and how much it would cost to clean up the area.

The Committee raised the following points with regard to the Site Allocations consultation:

·               Further thought must be given to engaging with residents who were not always easy to engage with.  There needed to be targeted consultation.  For example, Haringey People did not get delivered to all residents, therefore it was not advisable to use this as one of the main ways to carry out the consultation.

·               Factual errors in the document needed to be corrected – i.e. ‘The Roundway at Bruce Grove’ was in fact 315 The Roundway.

·               For each of the areas identified there should be a summary of what the key issues and aspirations are for the area in order to create discussions.

·               The maps were hard to read – they would be better in A3 size or larger.

The Committee also noted the points raised by residents during the forum and asked that they be fed back to the Planning Service to input into the formal consultation:

·               It wasn’t about looking at aspirations for an area – consideration needed to be given to what was already available in the area, and to utilise existing infrastructure.

·               The DPD seemed to only look at developments for sites and not at schools or community facilities.

·               It was important that green spaces in the borough were preserved and not used for development.

·               The consultation was difficult to understand.

·               Residents wanted to be involved with the formulation of consultation documents, not just to be presented with ideas to comment on.

·               Was there a code of practice for planning developments in the borough?  It was important to have a minimum based standard for designs.
