Cabinet considered a report, introduced by the Cabinet Member for the Environment, which set out the response to the Environment and Housing Scrutiny Panel’s review of waste and recycling services. This formed the second part of a two part review and focused on further options to increase recycling.

 

The Cabinet Member for the Environment, Councillor Canver, noted that the review had formed a useful and timely piece of work and that she was pleased to recommend the majority of the Panel’s recommendations for adoption. As set out in the report nine of recommendations put forward by the Panel were recommended for agreement in full and two recommendations had been partially agreed.

 

In conclusion Councillor Canver thanked members of the Panel for the work that had been undertaken as part of the review.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the response to the interim recommendations of the Environment and Housing Scrutiny Panel’s review of waste and recycling services, as set out in Appendix 2 of the report, be approved.

The report requires approval to the recommendations set out in response to the review.
