(Report of the Director of Children’s Services. To be introduced by the Cabinet Member for Children). The report sets out the outcome of the consultation on the proposal to update the Child Poverty Strategy and seeks approval of the Updated Child Poverty Strategy 2013-2015.

Cabinet considered a report, introduced by the Cabinet Member for Children, which set out the outcome of the consultation on the proposal to update the Child Poverty Strategy and to approve the updated Child Poverty Strategy 2013-2015.

RESOLVED:

1. That the outcome of consultation on the proposal to update the Child Poverty Strategy be noted; and

2. That the updated Child Poverty Strategy 2013-2015 be approved.

Alternative Options Considered

No alternative options were considered as the Local Authority has a statutory duty to produce a Child Poverty Strategy.

Reasons for Decision

The strategy fulfils the Council’s statutory responsibility to produce a Child Poverty Strategy.
