Cabinet considered a report, introduced by the Leader of the Council, which provided an overview of progress against the Council’s priorities and other major responsibilities during 2012/13.
The Leader of the Council, Councillor Claire Kober, responded to a series of points made by Councillor Reece in relation to the report. She began by noting that the Youth Strategy set out in detail how the Council was addressing issues in relation to young people and reducing their involvement in crime and antisocial behaviour. In response to a point made with regard to the provision of more detailed employment data, Councillor Kober noted that this was provided to Members on a monthly basis. With regard to the performance of schools more detailed information in relation to individual Wards this could be provided to Members by the Council’s Performance Team.
In addition it was noted that Cabinet would receive an update with respect to improvement plans for Customer Services and the Council’s Call Centre in the Autumn.
