Minutes:
The Board received a report that sought endorsement of the New Deal for Communities (NDC) Succession Plan, which had to be submitted to the Government by the end of November 2009.
It was noted that support from partners agencies was vital in order to sustain the work and achievements of the NDC Programme and therefore the HSP and the Council’s Cabinet were being asked to endorse the Succession Plan set out in the report. Integrating the Bridge Renewal Trust within the HSP Framework and working with it to ensure that its outcomes were aligned to Local Area Agreement (LAA) targets was a vital component to the success of the Plan.
Concern was expressed with respect to the wording used within the Business Plan to describe the relationship between the NDC and NHS Haringey over the management of The Laurels. There was agreement that there would be further discussion outside the meeting to agree a revised form of wording.
It was noted that much of the statistical information contained within the report did not include baseline data and consequently it was difficult to obtain a broader picture of where the NDC sat. This point was acknowledged and the Board was advised that this would be referenced within the final iteration.
In response to concern expressed that the NDC Board did not included representation from the Voluntary and Community Sector the Board was advised that as this developed there was the potential for its membership to expand.
The Board was reminded that GOL would be assessing how what had been learnt and achieved was reflected in the Succession Plan and this would be taken forward.
