It is recommended that the Delivery Director,
Finance and Resources approves the implementation of Contract
Standing Order (CSO)18.03.3 and 2.05.1(n) in order to extend Levitt
Bernstein appointment by the value of £39,816 (exc
VAT)
Levitt Bernstein have been designing the
Mallard Place project since it’s feasibility and have been
awarded the contract appointing them through to the end of RIBA
Stage 3 and planning submission. Levitt Bernstein have detailed
knowledge of Mallard Place including design and LB Haringey brief
for the project. Extending Levitt Bernstein’s contract
instead of employing new Architects would therefore ensure the most
consistent and high-quality service, including avoiding any
re-procurement delays costing more time and money to LB
Haringey.
It is key extend Levitt Bernstein on the project asap so the March
2026 deadline for a SOS grant claim of up to £37,500,000 is
not jeopardized.
A competitive tender has been rejected as it
would cause a lot of project delay in a procurement and project
kick-off perspective. It would likely cost the Council additional
money because the new consultancy would charge substantial sums for
transitional works also. If not extended and project was having to
be re-designed and re-procured by a new Architect this could impact
a grant claim of potentially up to £37,500,000 targeted from
the GLA.
