Appointment of Ridge and Partners LLP for
EA/QS services on the scheme known as Grasmere Court.
The project team for Grasmere Court require
EA/QS services to review the RIBA Stage 3 design information and
undertake a Pre- Tender Estimate, give advice on a suitable form of
contract, collaborate with Haringey’s Procurement Officer in
the preparation of and issue the tender documentation to the
selected contractors and management of the same through the tender
period along with preparation of the building contract documents
for execution by the main contractor checking of documents before
execution by Haringey Council
Details of any alternative options considered
and rejected by the officer when making the decision The Council to
run a competitive tender for the entire scope of works but in order
to keep in line with the scheme development timeline as submitted
to the courts it was necessary to expediate this process by
creating a separate appointment for the pre-construction services
required to progress the scheme and prevent delays that would
require additional reporting to the courts and potentially extend
the scheme completion date.
Alternatively, the Council could not appoint an EA/QS.
This decision was rejected because the services are necessary for
the progression of the scheme in response to sensitivities detailed
in the exempt main report.
