Approve to implement the proposed changes to disabled parking at 33 locations detailed in Table
A summary of recommendations includes the following:
• 26 new dedicated disabled bays
• 5 conversions of existing disabled bays to dedicated
disabled parking bays
• 2 relocations of existing dedicated disabled permit
bays
• Remove controlled parking zone restrictions where
the introduction of new dedicated disabled bays is
approved.

Reasons for the decision:

To prioritise parking and safety of disabled residents who live in the affected roads

Alternative options considered:

A “Do Nothing” approach was considered but not recommended as it would be against the Councils current dedicated disabled person parking policy and legal requirements set by Department for Transport (DfT).
