This report is seeking an approval of a waiver to extend an existing award of contract to Everest Surveying to provide Party Wall Surveyor services required to support delivery of a new council housing development scheme at Kerswell Close.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is delivering 25 homes for council rent on the former car parking facility at Kerswell Close and substantially improving the general amenity areas.
Everest Surveying provided initial Party Wall surveyor consultancy services for the scheme. Due to the design development, it has now transpired that there is a requirement to serve an increased number of Party Wall notices than initially anticipated.
Party Wall Surveyor services are required to serve notices on affected neighbouring properties.

Alternative options considered:

An alternative option will be to seek alternative quotes from different consultants.

However, considering a value of the contract extension and a fact that a new consultant will need familiarise themselves with the scheme and review existing documents before the design stage commences, it is unlikely that alternative quotes will bring a better value for money.
