Decision Maker: Assistant Director for Regeneration and Economic Development
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
For the Assistant Director of Regeneration and
Economic Development to agree to award a contract to South West
Business Crime Centre to complete a review of the Tottenham
Business Safe BCRP (Business Crime Reduction Partnership).
This will include 30 Hours of offline at £50 per hour for
interviews, a business survey, researching model options and
sponsorship opportunities.
This decision is in line with Contract Standing Order 8.03. The
total project cost is £1,500 and will come from Core
Funding.
The Business Crime Reduction Partnership in
its current form comes to an end at the end of the 2024/25
financial year therefore viable legacy options need to be
explored.
The Council cannot legally take over the ownership and delivery of
the BCRP and therefore needs to find alternative legacy options for
the continued delivery of the programme.
The Council needs to understand whether participating businesses
are interested in the BCRP continuing, so a survey of businesses
and their interest needs to be explored.
The Council needs to explore whether key partners and businesses
including local property developers would be interested in
subscribing or sponsoring the BCRP to fund its long-term operations
in the area.
Do Nothing – this is not an option, as
the Council needs to explore the alternative options for the
continued delivery of the programme.
Tender to a wider audience - This option would not work within the
timeframe required for a decision on the project and its legacy to
be discussed and decided by senior officers. Equally, the selected
supplier has the relevant experience in the field to assist with
the Council’s decision-making process.
