The Assistant Director for Regeneration and
Economic Development agrees:
To award Puzzle Factory Ltd, a grant of £2,085 to improve
insulation, make old IT equipment more efficient, and upgrade the
Building Management System (BMS) subject to a grant agreement being
entered in accordance with Contract Standing Order 17.3 (Approval
for Payment of Grants from the Council to External Bodies).
The recommendation is to award a grant of
£2,085 to Puzzle Factory Ltd to enable them to undertake some
cost-effective but efficient measures that will reduce energy
consumption and wastage.
This project’s application for a grant was recommended for
approval by a panel of officers from Inclusive Economy and Carbon
Management on 19 November 2024, following the internal evaluation
according to the grant’s criteria.
The panel recommended approval for this application as the sum
requested is relatively modest and if the outlined measures work as
anticipated, they will have significant impact. If successful,
these activities will act as great case studies for other
businesses - creative and otherwise - to learn from.
This project has been recommended for approval
based on the evaluation of an application and consideration by a
panel of officers from Inclusive Economy and Carbon
Management.
The evaluation process assesses applicants’ proposals on the
contribution to core criteria of grants, LBH’s strategic
objectives as set in Opportunity Haringey and the financial and
operational competency of the applicant.
Failure to award this loan could lead to a less energy-efficient
workspace that is more costly to run and less comfortable to work
in as a business owner / frequent as a customer or client.
