To approve the award of contract to Portsdown for the supply and installation of furniture, fittings and equipment for the Muswell Hill Library.

Muswell Hill Library is undergoing refurbishment including accessibility improvements and is currently closed to the public. The refurbishment includes the provision of new furniture and fitting as required and to replicate the quality of furnishings and the aesthetics of previous library refurbishments.

The award to Portsdown guarantees a continuation of quality and the desired look and feel of the library to match the others in the borough.

Do nothing - This is not an option as furniture fitting and equipment is required to re-open the library. Doing nothing would cause poor public relations and negatively impact on the community that the library is there to support.
