The Housing Delivery Team needs strategic,
technical support to manage and develop the technical team working
across the programme.
One of the main intentions behind the restructure was to enable a
transition to a structure that had a permanent, qualified team with
the necessary professional, technical and management skills to
ensure we are handing over high quality properties to informed
housing services teams for our residents. assessing the quality and
VFM and managing the acquisitions part of the programme to ensure
we maintain on target to delivery 3000 homes by 2031.
The total value of the contract will be for up to £50,000.
The contract will start on 1st September 2023 and finish on 31st
May 2024.
Altair have provided successful support
services to the Housing Delivery team previously and are
experienced in technical development, defect management and
stakeholder management across cross-Council teams like Housing
Services. The intention is to enable the growth and management of a
technical, defects management and liaison team at handover as the
programme matures and has more projects completing on site and
homes handing over in 2024.
An alternative option to appoint permanently
cannot be considered as the restructure is currently paused and we
are not able to appoint permanently.
A further option would be to appoint an alternative interim,
however no other consultancy firm (currently working with the team
or not) has an interim candidate that has both the relevant
industry experience and the specific experience of working in the
Housing Delivery Team and on this programme at Haringey.
An external interim would also need to undergo a lengthy onboarding
process which there is not sufficient time or capacity to
undertake.
