Decision:

In accordance with CSO 17.3, the Assistant Director for Regeneration and Economic Development agrees to award £50,000 grant to the Selby Trust as per the reasons set out below.

Reasons for the decision:

To meet the timescales set by the Department of Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC), and continue the joint approach that has been taken place thus far, the Council have opted to support the Selby Trust to resource the project. In this instance the financial support provided by the Council, via Levelling Up Funding, will help the Selby Trust to continue fund their development management resource thus supporting the delivery of the redevelopment programme and sustainable Selby business plan.

Alternative options considered:

An alternative option would be to make this grant repayable. This would not be a sustainable solution for the organisation.

A further option is to not award a grant to the Selby Trust. This would result in the Selby Trust not being able to play their part in the Selby Urban Village programme.
