This report is seeking an approval of a waiver
to extend an existing award of contract to EAS Transport Planning
Ltd to provide transport consultant services required to support
planning process for a delivery of social housing development
scheme at Lansdowne Road - Arundel, Baldewyne, Ashdowne and Fiske
Courts.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council is planning to deliver 37 homes
for social rent on the land adjoining to the existing Arundel,
Baldewyne, Ashdowne and Fiske Courts at Lansdowne Road and
substantially improve the general amenity areas.
EAS Transport Planning Ltd provided transport planning consultancy
services for the scheme.
There is a requirement to undertake a new transport survey and
prepare reports to support planning application for a new housing
development proposed at Arundel and Baldewyne sites.
Alternative options considered:
An alternative option will be to seek
alternative quotes from different consultants.
However, considering a value of the contract extension and a fact
that a new consultant will need familiarise themselves with the
scheme and review existing documents before the design stage
commences, it is unlikely that alternative quotes will bring a
better value for money.
