That in accordance with CSO 9.07.1(c) the Head
of Legal services &Governance agreed to award a contract to the
provider set out in the exempt report up to a maximum value of
£499,999.00 for all 4 contracts to provide legal services for
housing disrepair work, based on information summarised in the
exempt report.
Due to the high volume of work and current
capacity constraints within legal Services and the need to progress
the housing disrepair work there is a need to outsource some of
that work
Consideration was given to doing the work in
house but this cannot be done as there is a lack of capacity within
the litigation team and the volume of work in other areas currently
ongoing and being done in house means the work cannot be
redistributed
