It is recommended that the Director of
Housing, Regeneration and Planning approves the award of a contract
to Squibb Group Ltd as allowed under CSO 9.07.1c (Bid Acceptance
and Contract Award) in the sum of £235,057.99p excluding VAT
for demolition services on the Brunel Walk housing delivery
project.
To progress the scheme by appointing a
demolition contractor for demolition services on the Brunel Walk
housing delivery project.
The Council could have procured these services
as part of the main construction contract but this delay in
procurement would have incurred substantial additional expense in
security costs. Demolition ahead of the main contract will also
allow the council to secure a price received in the last quarter of
21/22, avoiding the inflation which will be applied if we were to
tender for demolition as part of the main works contract.
