Decision details
Contract award to BNP Parabis to provide site valuations for key sites as part of the Wood Green Cultural Quarter Delivery Plan
Decision Maker: Assistant Director for Regeneration and Economic Development
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Decision:
For the AD, Regeneration & Economic
Development to award a contract for valuation advice for the Wood
Green Cultural Quarter Delivery Plan project to ‘BNP
Parabis’ for the value of £9,750. This is in line with
Contract Standing Order 8.02.
Reasons for the decision:
The Wood Green Regeneration Team has carried
out a procurement exercise to procure services of a surveyor to
provide critical site valuation information to allow the council to
make informed decisions about the future of four key sites as part
of the Wood Green Cultural Quarter Delivery Plan. The Request for
Quote invited a suitably qualified surveyor to provide valuation
advice for the project.
The advice will help the council to conclude the Wood Green
Cultural Quarter Delivery Plan report.
Alternative options considered:
A review was undertaken to determine whether
the team could manage the complexity of the Wood Green Cultural
Quarter Delivery Plan without the need for an external surveyor and
identified that expert support was required. As ‘BNP
Parabis’ is an expert surveyor with previous experience
working in Wood Green, they are well placed to provide the site
valuations that the council requires.
An alternative would be not to appoint, but this would mean that
the council does not obtain accurate information to help inform
critical viability decisions, and risks the council proceeding with
recommendations for the sites in question without carrying out
proper due diligence measures.
