Construction to undertake building works to construct a three
storey two-bedroom home for a total contract sum of
£ 333,627.54; and approval of the client contingency sum set
out in the exempt part of the report.
Approval to appropriate the land of the site at Winchelsea Road
from housing purposes to planning purposes for carrying out the
development as described in the main report.
Following a formal procurement process, a
contractor has been identified to undertake construction works to
build a three story two-bedroom home for social rent.
On 9th of July 2019, Cabinet included the site adjacent at 138
Winchelsea Road into the Council’s housing delivery
programme.
This scheme was granted planning permission for this purposes 23rd
September 2020.
It would be possible not to appoint a
contractor to develop this site for the Council. However, this
option was rejected as it does not support the Council’s
commitment to deliver a new generation of Council homes.
