Decision details

To approve a variation of the contract between Ebooster Ltd (trading as ResilienceHelp.com) and the Council dated 16 December 2020 in accordance with CSO 10.02.1(a).

Decision Maker: Head of Programme Management

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Decision:

The Haringey Business Brexit Advice service was launched in late December 2020. Ebooster Ltd (a specialist Brexit consultancy) was appointed to provide a free practical one-to-one support and advice for Haringey businesses, to assist them through the changes their businesses will need to make in a post Brexit business environment.

However, with the departure of the Economic Development Officer, there is currently no staff resources to undertake additional work to support the support and advice delivered through the contract. A new EDO has been appointed and is due to start in late May 21. The contract variation would enable the above activities to be carry out by Ebooster Ltd, until the EDO starts work and goes through his induction period.

The original contract was valued £9,240. The contract variation of £2,000, is needed to enable, Ebooster Ltd, to provide additional interim Brexit-related support.

Reasons for the decision:

Alternative options considered:

The Council could choose not to approve the contract variation. This has been discounted because there is currently no capacity in the Council to carry out the activities outlined above. If these activities are not carried out, the Haringey Brexit Support programme will be compromised, including the delivery of advice to businesses. Going out to tender for interim advice support would not be cost effective.
