Decision:

That the Assistant Director for Housing retrospectively approves the additional contract cost and fees as follows: -

1. A variation of the contract with Engie Regeneration Limited to increase the value of the contract sum by £220,000.

2. The additional consultants’ fees of £16,610 resulting in a total additional cost of £236,610.

3. That £117,869 of the cost of these works will not be recharged to the leaseholders of properties at 1-24 Wall Court N4, included in their scope.

That the Assistant Director for Housing notes the revised total cost of this project is now £409,238.


Reasons for the decision:

Approval of the additional works costs to
carry out essential fire safety works, replacement of vinyl flooring, external repairs and making good of soffits identified during the construction phase. These additional works were identified at 1-24 Wall Court N4.

Alternative options considered:

The option of not doing the work was considered but rejected, because the landlord, Haringey Council must comply with current fire and Building Regulations as well as the Decent Homes Standard. It is also more cost effective to include the works as part of the existing contract, while on site. This is less disruptive for residents.
