Request approval to award a contract to Arc Group Limited in the
fixed sum of £244,956.36 for fire compartmentation and minor
associated works at Lancasterian and the Vale Primary School
pursuant to Contract Standing Order (CSO) 9.07.1 (c) and issuance
of a Letter of Intent pursuant to CSO 9.07.3.
A feasibility study commissioned under the Priority 1 Education
Condition and Suitability Programme at Lancasterian and the Vale
Primary School identified urgent works were required to the
building’s fire compartmentation and minor associated works
in order to comply with the current Building Regulations.
There are no resources within the Council that have the capacity
along with the necessary experience, qualifications and expertise
to deliver this service in house.
The works were competitively tendered, four contractors were
invited to tender with two bids received. These responses have been
evaluated by Potter Raper consultancy who were appointed to provide
multi-disciplinary design services. Their recommendation for an
award is noted in this report.
