This variation seeks approval to extend the original award by £2,500, which is for the measured survey work originally quoted at £4000. This equates to a 5% uplift in the value of the contract.

The variation increases the total award value to £52,323.00 from £49,823.

Following a direct call off through the Fusion 21 framework Pellings LLP, was awarded the contract for multi disciplinary services for the Priority 1 Wave 1 Bruce Grove Primary School. The total value of the contract was £49,823.

This included a provisional sum of £4,000 to undertake the measured building survey a critical element that will assist in measuring and specifying works to the level of detail required.

Following an approach to 3 companies, costs to under take this survey have come in over this price. The lowest quote was £6,500.

The works are urgent and severely time constricted. Pellings were appointed on 2nd July and the measured building survey must take place in the week commencing 16th July before the school summer closure. As such there was a limited pool of organisations with the capacity to undertake the work required with in the timescales specified.

A re-tender exercise would create a delay to the urgent works package and would unlikely provide any more competitive quotes capable of undertaking the work within the constraints set by the urgent works programme.
